A little history:
Robert the Bruce (1274–1329) became King of Scots in 1306 and led Scotland through years of warfare against English rule, culminating in the decisive Scottish victory at the Battle of Bannockburn in 1314. His campaign secured de facto Scottish independence, later formally recognised by England in the Treaty of Edinburgh–Northampton in 1328. He remains one of Scotland’s most celebrated monarchs and a defining figure of the Wars of Scottish Independence.
